My name is Precious Joy Johnson , I was involved in what was supposed to be a fatal car wreck on August 15th of this year. It was around 3 am in the morning when this took place. I created this fundraiser to help my sister and her partner get back on their feet and avoid paying for a car they do not have.
My sister and her partner are both in their twenties and are serving in the military. It hasn't been too long since they got their first car together. They both got their car under a contract/lease in April of this year.Recently we just got back from a 9 day vacation on the same day just a few hours earlier from the incident. During our vacation someone stole my sister's girlfriend's wallet. As we arrived home and started off loading our vehicle, I noticed that one of the luggage's were missing...unfortunately it was my sister's and her partner's shared luggage. You can imagine how upsetting this was to both of them, especially my sister's partner. It was a luggage her grandmother had given to her before she passed on. It was around 11-12 am when we set out to look for their luggage for it could possibly still be out on the road. I went with them to help look for the luggage and to possibly avoid them making any more hasty decisions. We drove a little over an hour and a half before we decided to head home. Unfortunately we had no such luck in finding their luggage. I was sitting behind her with my sister in the front passenger side. One second I'm looking out my open window , then the next second I hear a what sounded like a loud thunder crash and when I open my eyes, there are airbags all around us. That's when realization hit me that we got hit.We did nothing wrong. We were driving safely and within the speed limit. Unfortunately someone else didn't have the same intentions and it is classified as a hit and run. The next day we find out more information of our incident but not much. We find out that it was a truck that hit us going about 110-120 .Possibly stolen. Whoever it was had abandoned it. He or she hit 3 other vehicles after us. Unfortunately since we were the first to get hit , we got the worst of the impact. My sister could only afford to get liability insurance which of course only covers the other person , but nothing for if someone else were to hit us. Right now we all are just hoping they catch whoever is responsible and that our injuries are not worse than we think they are. No further information has been given to us and so far their hasn't been anyone suspected of being responsible. All that we know is that my sister and her girlfriend are now drowning in bills they cannot afford because of some one else's mistake. They are still paying for a car they just recently got but do not have any more because someone else decided to drive recklessly and ignore the lives of other people on the road. We were told that we got lucky by the hair of our skin . Our wreck was supposed to kill us, either from explosion, the forest trees stabbing us , or my sister and her girlfriend flying out the window and twisting their necks . I am lucky to be alive because the impact that we received was supposed to have crushed me. We are alive because my sister's partner was conscious and was fast enough to react and press the brakes that stopped us from flipping over.they do not deserve to pay a single price , a single penny because some one stupid and selfish decided to drive reckless like peoples lives do not matter. They serve to protect our country and they put their lives on the line to protect us. They haven't hurt anybody , they have a clean record. They just got this car and it was a milestone for them and now they are the ones that have to pay for a car that is claimed to be a total loss.Whoever is responsible is out there and does not deserve to get away with this. I just want to lessen the blow of this and I'm asking anyone to help us. Anything helps. Please and thank you. God bless you.
