After a year of frustrating doctors visits and numerous medications given to treat her symptoms, Kiley, a 24 year old model, was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in April 2021.

The tumor, located in the center of her brain, requires a skilled and specialized surgeon due to its size and the complexity of the location. A world renowned neurosurgeon who has worked with a number of difficult cases in his 30+ years of practice, has agreed to take Kiley's case. He has offered to perform the surgery with a gifted surgery team in Spain, so Kiley can have the surgery as soon as possible.  Surgery is sceduled for May 16, 2022.

Kiley's insurance company is in the process of determining her benefits, but we anticipate there will be a number of costs she will be responsible for covering herself.

Help Kiley prepare for the upcoming May surgery and let her know your thoughts and prayers are with her! Our family would love to see Kiley have a future that is full of promise and free of these medical challenges she has faced these past two years!

Kiley received clearance to travel  and continue her recovery at home.

It has been quite a journey and one that could not have had a better outcome! Understanding the complexity of her case in discussions with the surgeons, they confirmed the challenges Kiley has faced these past few years and the hesitation of surgeons in the US to help her.

We are so thankful that with the help of so many, Kiley had the courage to pursue the surgery and get the help she needed. The possibility exists that the results may not have been as successful, but the option to live with her condition was not an option Kiley was willing to accept.

Making  it through these past few years and braving the surgery has been the result of many prayers and individuals from all walks of life offering encouragement and support. It confirms the need to have faith and a supportive community during such a difficult time.

As Kiley continues to improve and the swelling subsides, the symptoms are fading away and Kiley is making plans for the future.  After years of having her life on hold, it is truly a joy to see.

In a world filled with so much division and need,  we want to thank all of you who chose to offer support to Kiley, and encourage you that HOPE always exists even in the darkest of times. Your circumstances today don't need to be your future. There are people willing and able to help, there is a God, Jesus, who the Bible says walks with us during the most difficult of times and gives us strength and courage to persevere even though we dont understand why we must suffer. We trust that He is working out something for our good.

There are so many people and communities of friends that have offered support that if we begin thanking everyone we are afraid we will miss someone that deserves to be recognized. Just know we are so thankful for your part in getting Kiley help. It took many people sacrificing their time and resources to get through this.

On behalf of Kiley and the Garcia Family, thank you for helping Kiley have a new tomorrow!

We are excited to share the news that Kiley was released from the hospital today, and is now recovering at our Airbnb.

And except for a challenging night of dealing with the management of pain, her recovery has been miraculous!

your prayers and encouragement have made a huge difference and we are SO THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for everyone's prayers and support.

Even though Kiley would not have  chosen to go through all that she has experienced, we have no doubt that God is faithful and good! The courage and peace she has experienced to persevere in the middle of a really dark time is nothing short of a miracle!

Thank you for your part in getting her through this!

Kiley spent the evening of her surgery in ICU and this morning was moved to her own hospital room. We spent time with her in ICU last night and were incredibly relieved and encouraged to see her smiling and talking. Thanks to the skilled surgeons and your many prayers, Kiley did not experience any of the adverse side effects that can result from this type of surgery and we are so thankful she came through the surgery so well!

She has been incredibly courageous, but is so relieved to have this surgery behind her! As she continues to recover under the care of this amazing staff, please pray the swelling and pain subside quickly.

Thank you for caring about Kiley and for making a difference in her life!

Kiley is out of surgery!

The surgeons successfully removed the growth today and she is recovering and awake.

We get to see her later today, but the surgeons indicated they are keeping a close eye on her. There was some bleeding involved during the removal and that is something they watch closely, so no blood clots form. The next 24-48 hours will tell, so please continue to keep her in your prayers, and we will send an update when we see her this evening.

We arrived safely in Spain and Kiley has had tests and blood work at the hospital in preparation for her surgery.

She meets with the surgeons this evening to address any remaining questions and concerns.

We couldn't have made it here without the help and encouragement of so many.  If we have not been able to thank you personally, please know how much we appreciate you and your willingness to make a difference in Kiley's life!

Her surgery takes place tomorrow morning at 8:30a. Please keep Kiley in your thoughts and prayers that her symptoms would be gone and that there would not be any complications that would cause lasting side effects!

So many things have fallen into place to give us great confidence that this surgery is what Kiley needs, but it is a complex situation. We are trusting God, very skilled surgeons, and appreciating you for all the prayers and good wishes her way!
