Hi everybody,
My name is Doshima Iyorlu, I am a 22-year-old student and server from Sacramento, CA. In November 2021, my three siblings and I tragically lost our mother.
Since then, I have been taking care of my little sister Nengena. I spent a year and a half in a court battle with our father who was unable to care for Nene. He was homeless and struggling with his mental health, but since he is the natural parent, it was a difficult court battle to achieve guardianship. However, the court eventually sided with me and I was appointed guardian in June 2023.
Nene and I have been happily residing in Long Beach, CA for the past two years. I am pursuing acting and Nene shows great talent in visual arts and volleyball.
Though we are getting by, the court battle resulted in lawyer fees to the tune of $10k. Any donations will greatly contribute to our well-being and thriving.
