My name is Jessica Appleton, and I am proud to be raising funds in support of women’s heart health and educational scholarships through the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative in partnership with the Miss America Scholarship Foundation.
Working in healthcare has shown me firsthand how often women put their own health last, especially young women who are juggling school, careers, and caregiving roles. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women, yet it is so often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or ignored. This cause is deeply important to me because I believe that education and prevention save lives.
Through this collaboration, donations raised will support critical heart research while also providing tuition scholarships that allow women to pursue higher education without financial barriers. Supporting women’s health means supporting women’s futures physically, academically, and professionally.

Miss America and Miss America's Teen National Scholarships are awarded by a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the Miss America's Scholarship Foundation Inc. This collaboration provides funds for national awards, and in addition, both Miss America's/Miss America's Teen State Scholarships and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement. The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women is Miss America's Scholarship Foundation's national health thought leader. All above mentioned entities are 501(c)(3) organizations and all donations to this campaign are fully tax-deductible per IRS regulations.
