✨Here is a TLDR (full story below):

Last week I very unexpectedly woke with horrible abdominal pain and after many tests, went under for emergency surgery to remove my right fallopian tube and appendix! I was hospitalized for the following 4 days. What a wild turn life has taken!

Humbling myself and asking for support in paying for these medical costs as I do not have heath insurance and will be unable to work for the next month while I recover.

Truly anything helps, and I am grateful for your time and care!!

Thank you, and sending lots of love :)

Wow, how quickly life can take a turn! πŸ˜΅‍πŸ’«

One week I am in the midst of hosting events, classes, and workshops, and the next thing I know, I am in the hospital, hooked up to an IV, unable to walk or use the toilet on my own (not to mention two less pieces in my body!).

This entire experience has come as quite a shock. On Saturday Dec 3rd, around 2:30am, I was woken up with excruciating pains in my lower abdomen, accompanied with vomiting and an increasing fever. I found it quite alarming how bad the pain was, and texted my dear friend Pauline, to come see me when she woke up.

Pauline got me to the gynecologist, where we got my copper IUD removed; however, the doctor was alarmed by the amount of excess fluid in my abdomen and sent us straight to the ER.

After being poked, prodded, and probed for the next 12 hours, going through more ultrasounds, a really unpleasant CT scan, more painful palpations, and the expert help, advocacy, and guidance from another dear friend (and medical doctor himself), Manish, it was concluded that I needed surgery, with appendix removal being the objective.

By midnight I was under the knife πŸ”ͺ😳

During the surgery, I was woken up from the anesthesia, being shown videos of my insides that were currently exposed, so I could consent to having another surgeon enter the operating theater and remove my right fallopian tube, (which was the cause for the excess liquid, puss, and infection in the abdominal region), and add another $1500 to the bill.

By 3am, I was up, confused on where I was and screaming in pain.

6am I was taken to my hospital room where I remained for the next 4 days, resting, recovering, and beginning to process what had all just happened (which honestly, I’m still in a bit of a daze about!).

Now I am reaching our for your help! I unfortunately do not have medical insurance here in Bali. They considered the surgery a complex surgery, requiring two surgeons (the general surgeon and the OBGYN). I also will not be working for the next month as I allow my body the proper time to rest and recover (difficult for me to do!).

I am in total surrender and trust to this process πŸ’«

Humbling myself enough to ask for help covering these expenses is a challenge for me, though I am allowing myself to practice this art of asking. I greatly appreciate your donation to my bills and recovery process. Anything helps! πŸ™πŸ½πŸŒ»

$6000 covers the surgery, hospital stay/care, check ups, and recovery time off work.

It is not easy being away from immediate family and in a foreign country, undergoing a procedure like this. I am so incredibly grateful for the support system I have here in Bali and the medical team who was able to discover the problem and take care of it in a timely manner 🌷🀍

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

With deep love, gratitude, and blessings,

Amira
