Zurett is a devoted wife and mother of five beautiful children, ranging in age from just four months old to eleven years old. She and her husband, Terrance, have been together since high school, building a life rooted in love, faith, and perseverance through military service, parenthood, and unimaginable loss.

Just three months after giving birth to their youngest son, Zurett received devastating news. She has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and very aggressive soft tissue cancer. The cancer has invaded her orbital socket, sinuses, and lymph nodes, and is now encroaching on her nervous system and brain. Because of how aggressive this cancer is, her treatment must be aggressive as well.

Zurett will undergo chemotherapy and radiation, beginning immediately. There is no specialist for this type of cancer in her local area, which means she must travel frequently from Jefferson City, Missouri to Columbia, Missouri and St. Louis, Missouri for treatment. Over the next  42 weeks alone, this will require repeated trips—approximately 40 miles each way to Columbia and 120 miles one way to St. Louis.

We are hopeful that the first round of treatment will successfully shrink her tumors so that treatment can continue. While there is hope, her current prognosis is not good, and the road ahead is physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming.

Because of the ages of their children and the intensity of Zurett’s treatment, Terrance will need to significantly reduce his work hours to transport her to and from appointments and care for their younger children. Reliable transportation for ongoing treatment is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. One of the central goals of this fundraiser is to secure a dependable vehicle that ensures Zurett can travel to and from life-saving treatments in Columbia and St. Louis safely and consistently.

This effort is about removing barriers and protecting stability during an already demanding season. Funds raised will directly support: Consistent, dependable transportation for treatment in Columbia and St. Louis Essential household expenses during reduced work hours Medical costs not fully covered by insurance Childcare and basic family needs to maintain security and normalcy for their children This is about creating stability, preserving strength, and allowing the focus to remain on treatment, recovery, and family.

This family has already endured the loss of two children in infancy and has continued to move forward with incredible strength and faith. Now, they are facing the fight of Zurett’s life—and they cannot do it alone.

If you are able to give, share, or pray, every act of support matters more than you know. Thank you for helping us surround Zurett and her family with the love, support, and resources they need in this critical moment.
