My name is Sarah Robie, and I live in New Hampshire with my 2 daughters.
I am using spotfund because I need to fix my car desperately and I have no way to pay for it on my own. I work, and when I'm not I take care of my girls. My oldest does homeschooling and my youngest goes to middle school. When I brought my car to be inspected in April, I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox, I was told that it would not pass again. I have to register my car by the end of the month, my birthday was September 12th. Starting in January we will not have to inspect our cars on a yearly basis here in New Hampshire, but since my registration is prior to this date I will need to get mine inspected one more time. The reason for not passing will be the amount of rust, my car is literally falling apart. The rocker panels are rusted through and falling off my car, there is also a lot of rust all around the vehicle. I need to get my brakes fixed. I have the pads, but I was told I needed to get the rotors replaced as well. Needless to say it's going to be very expensive for me to get all these things done for inspection.
Alright, back to why I am posting this. I would like to add that I am hiding while typing this. I am in our bedroom, he is on the porch hence the reason I am typing right now. Obviously, he does not know that I am seeking help in this way to get the car fixed. The car is mine, his name is not on it. He does not have a license so he cannot register it in NH. I don't know for sure how much everything will cost, but I know from speaking to my mechanic that 1,500 to 2,000 just for the rust work is not an unreasonable estimate. He also said that they are going to prefer to do everything at once, which makes sense. I don't have a credit card, no savings, my credit is horrible and I don't qualify for payments or even a loan of some sort. I don't like having to ask for help. My daughter Nevaeh is pushing me to do this, she said that I need to just do it so that we can keep our car. It was 10 years that we went without a vehicle, we can't go back. I can't go back to riding a bicycle for work, errands, everything! It was rough....Plus, without a car, it limits what my daughters can do, and where they can go, which would be nowhere.
