so mr bug hasnt been doing so great 😕 , we first noticed symptoms tuesday night bc he was being super standoffish and quiet. those symptoms quickly elevated to passing little amounts of urine with blood, straining and yelping in pain and eventually not passing urine at all. we took him to an emergency vet here in lewisville on Wednesday afternoon. they evaluated bug and realized he had a urinary tract blockage. to treat the UTB they sedated him and inserted a catheter to unblock him, and hooked him up to fluids, antibiotics and pain meds to flush his system. they kept him there overnight, and the following morning we picked him up after the vet telling us him vitals have significantly improved. he was a bit out of it, but he was better. we got him a fountain to encourage drinking water, tons of wet food, and gave him his gabapentin every 8 hours. hes finally passing urine normally, showing no signs of pain and drinking water, but he hasnt eaten any food at all. hell smell it, show a little bit of interest but will walk away 😞. we gave him a hunger stimulant prescribed by the vet, but still nothing. ive given him wet food by itself, dry food, mixed, and warmed. we have 2 different supplements were adding to help with hydration but he wont eat and im starting to get very concerned because hell try to pass stool but he hasnt eaten in like 3-4 days so he cant because he hasnt anything. zoe and i have already put ourselves $2500 into debt with the initial visit and well need more to fix his current issue. any help will help, we both appreciate anything at all.
