Heather and Marky Need Our Help!
A few years ago, Heather made a big life decision: she took her entire life savings to move back to Florida, where she and her son, Mark, could be closer to family and enjoy her golden years in the warm, sunny weather. She poured every dime she had into buying her forever home and making it truly hers.
But last week, everything changed. Hurricane Milton tore through her small community, and the devastation left in its wake is unimaginable.
During the storm, Heather helplessly watched via video chat as Marky and her other son, Mike, braved the unimaginable—riding out the storm when the roof was torn off the house. With debris flying everywhere, flooding waters rising, and trees falling all around them, they somehow managed to reach their car and make a terrifying drive through blinding rain and chaos to a nearby friend’s house. By the grace of God, they arrived safely.
While Heather is currently staying in Milton, her home is completely unsalvageable. Marky and Mike are now homeless. And as many of you may know, insurance in Florida is a nightmare—flood insurance is nearly impossible to get, leaving Heather with nothing to help recoup her losses.
When I say they’ve lost everything, I mean everything—electronics, furniture, family photos, treasured mementos… it's all gone. And so far, there’s been no help. FEMA is, well... FEMA. Heather has received zero assistance to date.
If you know Heather, you know she's one of the most generous, caring people out there. Whether she’s bought you a drink, lent you a hand, or welcomed you into her home, she's always given so much to others. Now, she needs our help.
No donation is too small—every dollar will help Heather rebuild her life. And if you can’t donate, please share this. Your support means more than you know. Let's help Heather and her family get through this.
