I've been dreaming of college for as long as I can remember, but the journey getting there hasn't been easy. Growing up with my single mom in New Jersey, has been filled with challenges. My father, who lives almost an hour away, struggles with severe bipolar disorder, so it's often been just me and my mom finding our way. We've moved around a lot, from NYC to various parts of New Jersey, which has taught me resilience but has also made stability a rare luxury.
Every school I attended was a new beginning, a chance to rebuild and reconnect, which helped me grow a deep appreciation for learning. My mom, despite our financial struggles, has always encouraged my dream of higher education, believing it could change the course of our lives. But with the reality of tuition costs, the dream sometimes feels like it's slipping away.
