Hello! My name is Veronika and I am a Ukraine native. I moved to Chicago with my parents when I was younger but still have family and friends in Ukraine. Most of them are currently located in Dnipro. There is little I can do to guarantee their safety with the recent events but what I want to do is help the people who are defending them.
My father and I have been involved in gathering support for those who have picked up arms in Ukraine, namely in Kyiv. There is currently a shortage of body armor among those who guard posts in cities with heavy military activity. We have been looking for support in finding those who can donate or help sponsor protective gear. We have been working with people in our community who have been sourcing this type of gear and have contacts that have been flying them out to Poland and giving them to those who drive the gear into Ukraine. This process is effective but limited in capacity since the purchase of vests depends on finances from civilians.
If you are able to donate to this cause the money will go to the purchase of tactical equipment and be sent to Ukraine as soon as possible. Please help make a difference and protect those who are defending their country. If we exceed our donation goal, we will continue to use the excess funds to fund top priority needs for the Ukrainian fighters. We will win this together. Слава Україні! 🇺🇦
