When I was five years old I had measles and chickenpox. High fevers with both and an antibiotic then damaged most of my auditory nerves then. I am now 73, and my hearing progressively got worse through the years to where I am legally deaf.
I live in a 55+ community, and enjoy teaching other residents about resources and apps available for their hearing needs. If they have an Android phone I install Live Transcribe (free) on their phone. I show those with Iphones how to get the built in live transcriptioning activated.
I really love being with people and hesring aids help me understand them and the world around me
