KIDS NEED KIDNEYS
Hi my name is Jessica Calzada and I am a Sports Management graduate student at Sam Houston State University. Me and my two classmates David and Alex are trying to raise awareness to children with Kidney (Renal) Cancer at Texas Children's Hospital located in the Woodlands, TX. This is a really important project to us because this is a disease that unfortunately took the life of Alex's mom and we would like to raise awareness to better serve those who have lost a loved one from cancer. Our goal is to raise $3,500 to purchase a portable calming gaming system for the children to use at the hospital before surgeries or while recovering.
Our Mission: To raise awareness of kidney (Renal) cancer and help parents to never lose a child again!
Background info on Portable Gaming System for kids: SHSU partnered with Gamers Outreach which is a for-purpose organization restoring a sense of joy and normalcy in the lives of hospitalized kids. 100% of proceeds will be going directly to purchasing these gaming carts for Texas Children's Hospital.
Background info about Kidney Cancer at TCH: The Renal Service at Texas Children's Hospital is one of the largest programs in the world, and provides diagnostic, therapeutic and long-term care for infants, children and adolescents with all forms of congenital and acquired kidney diseases.
