Chief Wilson was involved in a car accident on Friday, March 27th while heading to a scheduled training at the fire department when someone ran a stop sign 2 blocks from the hall.
He has 2 neck fractures (C1 and C2) as well as 8 back fractures (L2-L5 and T9-T12). He just underwent urgent spinal stabilization surgery where they fused T8-T11. With this tragic accident, he is facing a very long road to recovery with at least 3 months in a neck brace and TLSO brace(half body).
Elmer has dedicated his life to serving others with 40+ years at Mt. Morris Twp Station 2. He also owns his own business, but he will not be able to work for several months.
Please help us ease the burden of Chief Wilson.
Update: he is now on a ventilator and fully sedated due to a collapsed lung and double-sided pneumonia following his surgery.
