My cousin Kate, who is just 29 years old, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Phuket, Thailand. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and required emergency brain surgery (cranial trepanation). She is currently in a coma and in critical condition, fighting for her life.
In addition to her brain injury, she also has other physical injuries, including broken bones. At this moment, she remains under constant medical supervision in the hospital.
The cost of her care is extremely high- approximately $1,400 per day - and continues to grow as she requires intensive, life-saving treatment. We are still waiting for the full estimate from the hospital.
Kate is not alone - she has a large circle of loving friends and family who are supporting her during this incredibly difficult time. We are all hoping and praying for her recovery.
