VERA’S APPEAL TO HELP VOLUNTEERS OF UKRAINE

HELPING CITIZENS DURING THE WAR

Hello Friends and Friends of Friends,
As you know, I started a campaign with the name, “HelpTerritorialDefenseForces” and with your generous contributions and was able to transfer $1675 to the volunteers in Kiev. The money collected for critically needed equipment and special protective clothing, tactical belts, gloves, helmets, bulletproof vests, etc. were acquired and distributed among Kiev civilian defenders. During my discussions with the volunteers in Kiev, I realized that I need to broaden the campaign goals to also include food, medicine, transportation, baby food, and temporary bedding. As you can imagine, it is crazy out there for the innocent citizens and their needs includes anything that can help them survive this unbelievable ordeal.
With change in the goals of the campaign, I have decided to change the name of the campaign to, “HelpCitizensOfUkraine” which reflects how the collected funds will be utilized. Nothing else changes in the campaign.

Please help me … my home country Ukraine is being systematically destroyed and my hometown, the lovely Kiev, is being wrecked while I am helplessly witnessing this unbelievable tragedy.

I understand that there are a lot of fundraising activities, and you must be emendated with appeals to contribute but this one is a special personal appeal to my friends and friends of friends. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your contributions. I love you all!

Stand With Ukraine! Let's help minimize the misery of the citizens of Ukraine as much as possible!

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 #𝟐𝟒 — 𝐘𝐀𝐘!🇺🇦❤️

2680 pounds, 99 boxes. All of the amazing items we collected are now on their way to Ukraine. So many people, hospitals, stabilization points, doctors, and families with children will receive things they truly need and have been waiting for.

I am incredibly grateful to every single one of you who shared our posts, donated, purchased items from our Amazon list, helped pick up supplies, packed boxes, and helped load everything onto the Meest truck (Luba Birger, Dasha Lyalko, Eugene Grigoryev, Oleg Iushchenko).

It truly takes a village to send help to Ukraine — and we did it again.

And Vasya is finally free! He spent an extra, completely unplanned week locked upstairs while all the boxes were waiting for pickup. I felt so bad for him, and he looked very happy when I finally let him out!

What we are doing may seem small compared with everything Ukrainians are facing every day, but I truly believe it matters. When every day is a challenge and people don’t know what tomorrow will bring, receiving something they desperately need is more than just practical help. It is also a reminder that they are not alone, that people care, and that there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Thank you for making this possible. We did it again. ❤️🇺🇦

Baltimore friends — please come join us on October 7 at Checkerspot Brewery for a special fundraiser for Ukraine. 💙💛

This event is powered by some amazing women: Judy, brewer and owner of Checkerspot Brewery, is collaborating with Olga, a brewer and owner in Odesa, to support Inna Adamovich #StayWithUkraine effort, which is helping bring much-needed supplies to Ukraine.

It’s a beautiful collaboration between Baltimore and Odesa, all for a cause that continues to need our support.

I would love to see you there! And even if you can’t attend in person, you can still support the fundraiser by purchasing a ticket.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 💙💛

A quick update on the electric scooter. It was finally delivered to the woman who had been waiting for it for the past couple of months. ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this possible. You helped us deliver something that can truly change her daily life.

In the video, she says she is still learning how to use the scooter safely and getting comfortable with it, but she’ll get there. Once she does, it will make life so much easier for both her and her husband, who also has health issues and is on disability.

This scooter will help her move around with less pain and fatigue, get groceries home, and have much more independence.

A special thank you to Svetlana Zolotarfor helping us find the scooter for her. 🙏

She is incredibly grateful and so am I. 💙💛

Yesterday, on September 11, so many of us remembered where we were, how we felt, and all the lives that were changed forever. Days like that remind us how precious life is and how deeply hatred and violence can affect ordinary people.

I wish with all my heart that no one, anywhere, had to live through war, terrorism, fear, or the loss of innocent lives. I am grateful for every person who chooses compassion, kindness, peace, and helping others. ❤️

A little update for all supporters of #HelpCitizensOfUkraine ❤️ We have raised $3,461 out of the $5,000 we need for the next shipment.

We are getting close, but we still need $1,539 to reach our goal.

On September 19, we are picking up another large load of medical and surgical supplies from St. Joseph. I’m hoping we can get everything packed and ship on Monday, September 21, or the following Monday if we need a little more time.

I also recently received several items from our Amazon list — stretchers to quickly evacuate someone who is injured or wounded, emergency blankets that will be especially important as winter approaches, bleeding-control bandages to help stop severe bleeding quickly, and other much-needed medical supplies.

Please keep those donations coming too. Every item helps. Every donation counts.

If you can donate — even a small amount — it truly helps. And if you can’t donate right now, please share this with your friends. Sometimes one share reaches exactly the person who is able to help.

Thank you to every single person who has donated, shared, sent items from the Amazon list, brought supplies, helped with pickups, packing, carrying boxes, or simply continued supporting what I do. I truly could not keep doing this without you.

You help me get these supplies there, and I promise I will do the rest and make sure they reach the people in Ukraine who are waiting for them. ❤️🇺🇦

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand for humanity, peace, compassion, and a better future for all of us.
