VERA’S APPEAL TO HELP VOLUNTEERS OF UKRAINE

HELPING CITIZENS DURING THE WAR

Hello Friends and Friends of Friends,
As you know, I started a campaign with the name, “HelpTerritorialDefenseForces” and with your generous contributions and was able to transfer $1675 to the volunteers in Kiev. The money collected for critically needed equipment and special protective clothing, tactical belts, gloves, helmets, bulletproof vests, etc. were acquired and distributed among Kiev civilian defenders. During my discussions with the volunteers in Kiev, I realized that I need to broaden the campaign goals to also include food, medicine, transportation, baby food, and temporary bedding. As you can imagine, it is crazy out there for the innocent citizens and their needs includes anything that can help them survive this unbelievable ordeal.
With change in the goals of the campaign, I have decided to change the name of the campaign to, “HelpCitizensOfUkraine” which reflects how the collected funds will be utilized. Nothing else changes in the campaign.

Please help me … my home country Ukraine is being systematically destroyed and my hometown, the lovely Kiev, is being wrecked while I am helplessly witnessing this unbelievable tragedy.

I understand that there are a lot of fundraising activities, and you must be emendated with appeals to contribute but this one is a special personal appeal to my friends and friends of friends. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your contributions. I love you all!

Stand With Ukraine! Let's help minimize the misery of the citizens of Ukraine as much as possible!

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 #𝟐𝟐 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 #𝟐𝟑 🇺🇦

Our sea portion of Shipment #22 finally arrived in Ukraine on April 30th. We just received a full report from Bank of Good(Наталочка) and Roads of Kindness in Zhytomyr, Ukraine.

These two small organizations that receive and distribute all of our humanitarian shipments on the ground.

The tactical medicine, wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches are primarily going to hospitals to support our soldiers who lost limbs and are going through recovery and rehabilitation. The electric lift(Maxim) and hospital bed(Anna) were also sent to hospitals caring for wounded soldiers recovering from severe injuries.

The remaining medical supplies, surgical equipment, and hospital necessities are being distributed to local hospitals and civilians in need. Many of these items are already spoken for before the shipment is even fully unloaded. Ambulances, doctors, and volunteers are often waiting during the unloading and unpacking process so these critical supplies can reach those who need them most with as little delay as possible.

I will soon share an additional report from Viktoriia of Roads of Kindness detailing how the remaining donated funds were spent, and I will report back to everyone as soon as I receive it.

Now it is time to begin preparing Shipment #23. I never really stopped preparing. I have continued collecting medical supplies nonstop, and my basement is already filling up again. We are currently waiting for Vicky from St. Joseph to confirm the next hospital supply pickup date, and then packing will begin once again.

Please continue supporting this mission. Together, we are doing something deeply meaningful for people who are truly counting on us. Let us continue to hope and pray that this terrible war will end soon and that Ukraine will finally know peace again. But until that day comes, the people of Ukraine still need our help and we will not let them down.

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 #𝟐𝟐 – 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞
The long-awaited update on the air portion of Shipment #22 is finally here. The shipment arrived in Ukraine on March 17. While there were some delays, air way still proved to be much faster than sea.
This shipment included a total of 217 pounds of life-saving supplies. Inside were critical items such as hand warmers, emergency blankets, bandages, chest seals, tourniquets, and other essential medical materials.
All of these supplies are now being directed to a medical stabilization point near the front lines, where they will support immediate care and help save lives.
This shipment was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of donors. A total of $6,129 was raised during the fundraiser, enabling the purchase and delivery of these urgently needed supplies and funding of the sea shipment and other urgent needs.
Our work stands as another reminder of both the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the impact of continued support.
Thank you again to everyone who made this possible and for standing with Ukraine.

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 #𝟐𝟐 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐭!
Shipment #22 (SEA portion) was picked up from my home today. This shipment includes more than 3,000 pounds of critical medical supplies: a hospital bed, an electric lift for bedridden patients, surgical supplies, catheters, wound care materials, rehabilitation equipment, army boots, and many other essential medical items.
I am incredibly grateful that all of this aid is now on its way to Ukraine to support people who urgently need medical care and assistance. Knowing that these supplies will help army medics, hospitals, stabilization points, caregivers, and patients during such a difficult time means everything.
Thank you to everyone who contributed: whether through donations, purchasing items from the Amazon wish list, sharing my posts, liking, commenting, or helping spread the word. Every single action, no matter how small it seemed, played a part in making this fundraiser and shipment another success.
We should be proud of ourselves. Our consistency and dedication remain strong, and we will continue this mission for as long as help is needed.

We raised a total of $5,894. After covering the costs of both the air and sea portions of Shipment #22, the remaining funds will be used to purchase tourniquets, a critical medical device used to stop severe bleeding from an arm or leg.

Every dollar we putting to work with purpose. Thank you for making this possible.

Until next time. I am not stopping the collection of supplies between shipments. If you have items to donate, please reach out to me directly, and I will gladly arrange a pickup. Together, we are making a real difference.

The packing of the sea portion of shipment #22 is complete! Everything is ready for today’s pickup. This shipment includes 2,720 pounds of medical supplies packed into 112 boxes, as well as a hospital bed (approximately 200–250 pounds), an electric lift for severely ill patients, and a walker, which will be delivered to me today from other locations.

A huge thank you to Marina Kurenbin, her son Max, and friend Felix, as well as my Dasha, for their invaluable help with packing. We started on Friday at 7:00 PM and worked until 2:00 AM. Then we continued on Saturday at 9:00 AM and finished at 5:00 PM, when the last label was attached to the final box. We were all exhausted but happy. We still had Sunday to rest and recharge for the upcoming week.

I cannot fully express my gratitude to everyone for the support. It would have taken me at least a week to accomplish what we achieved in just 24 hours. It truly means the world to me!

Today, I have people who will help load everything into the box truck. I am very grateful to Anna and Igor for helping with this today. Together we are strong and can overcome any difficulties!

The air parcel was just picked up by the Meest truck from my place. It didn’t go out Monday because of the snow, but it’s now on its way and should arrive in Ukraine in about a week or so.
Inside are 217 pounds of life-saving supplies: hand warmers, emergency blankets, bandages, chest seals, tourniquets and other-all critical items.
Now we begin packing the sea shipment. It must be ready for pickup on Monday, March 2.
And let me say this - we raised $𝟓,𝟖𝟒𝟒 in this fundraiser. I have no words to describe how grateful I am for your support. Thank you. The next update will be Monday, March 2.
I was just speaking with a friend of mine in Ukraine. She told me she has had no heat in her apartment for two straight months, through the brutal winter cold of -20°C (-4°F). She has been sleeping under four blankets and wearing a hat at night. And yet she remains so optimistic. I am constantly amazed by the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
There are so many people in Ukraine like my friend. They deserve to live in peace and not under constant bombing.
Thank you again for standing with them.
