My 10 year old son is absolutely amazing, he is such a miracle and I am truly blessed to see the beauty of God’s mercy and strength through him. In October of 2016, he suffered a traumatic brain injury from a terrible accident when he was only a year old. He has made so much progress in the last 9 years it’s incredible, however he still struggles with a few things such as TBI induced epilepsy, autism, seizure activity that slows the brain waves to mimic developmental delays, short term memory loss, a compromised immune system, and just recently he was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder with functional seizures.

Several years ago my children and I were able to escape from a horrific domestic violent situation that left my children without a father and with a single mother with multiple autoimmune disorders.

My oldest son went straight into the Army after he graduated high school and is trying to be the best role model for his younger siblings that he can be. My second oldest, has stayed home to help with her younger siblings while she is preparing for college, she wants to be an elementary school teacher. My two middle children are incredibly intelligent and are in their senior year of high school, one preparing to follow his brother into the military and into medical school and the other for college closer to home, she’s an amazing writer. My youngest daughter is extremely creative and a talented artist, who is almost always on the honor roll, she’s looking forward to graduating high school in the next couple of years. That leaves my youngest son, he looks up to his older brothers and sisters so very much. He wants to grow up and follow his brothers into the military and can almost always be seen wearing camo, loves to play Minecraft and Roblox, learn about war and military history, paint, play his recorder, his favorite soccer player is Renaldo, and wants to play football with the Dallas Cowboys. We don’t have the heart to tell him that he may have to think of other options for his future, but he’s young and hopefully finds something else that he becomes interested in.

Even though I do work a full time job, I am already struggling to keep up with all the financial needs of my family, as well as being there for all of my son’s and other children’s medical appointments, surgeries, and therapies, and I honestly cannot afford to provide him with a fully certified and trained service animal that he so desperately needs. After his most recent hospitalization, we have adopted a 10 month old German shepherd mixed puppy who has already started picking up on his seizures that my son would like to have trained for this purpose.

Please, if you are able and find it in your heart to donate to helping, anything and everything is greatly appreciated! God bless you!
