On June 30, 2026, the Aspen Acres Fire swept through our lives, taking with it our mountain home in what felt like an unstoppable force of nature. The fire raged through the National Forest toward Beulah Valley, growing from a few acres to 22,000 in mere hours. With 100 mph winds, there was no way to combat it on the ground. A brief chance to fight it by air came and went, but the flames still reached the ridge above our house, leaving devastation in their wake. As we await a chance to return home and assess the full extent of the damage, I've lost not only my home but also the sense of security I've worked so hard to build for my two children.
Facing the heartbreak of losing another home—having gone through this once in New York State 11 years ago—is overwhelming. I'm urgently seeking help to purchase a camper where my two kids and I can stay, along with covering essential items like food and clothing that we lost in the fire. As I navigate the uncertainty of the coming weeks, this support would provide a stable foundation while we rebuild our lives. Your kindness means the world to us in this challenging time.
