My name is Tim Holland, and I am raising funds to help cover the funeral and memorial expenses for my father, Brian Holland.
My dad passed away after a long illness, and while nothing can truly prepare you for losing a parent, the love and support that I have been feeling from family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched has been overwhelming. I'm hoping to give him the respectful farewell he deserves and honor the life he lived.
To me, he was simply Dad. But to so many others, he was a friend, mentor, comedian, craftsman, veteran, and someone who was always willing to help. He proudly served in the Army, started Holland Hardwood Floors in 1989, and spent decades mastering his trade while helping countless people along the way. The company he started is the same company I proudly operate today, and every day I go to work, I'm reminded of the lessons, work ethic, and values he passed on to me.
Whether he was making people laugh on stage as a stand-up comedian, sharing advice in the hardwood flooring community, supporting others through health struggles, or just checking in on a friend, he had a way of making people feel seen and valued. Even during his own health struggles, Dad was often more concerned about helping someone else than talking about himself.
Dad loved watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset at night. He loved being out on his boat, showing off his extensive LED light collection, and spending time with his beloved grand cats, Blaze and Callie. He built friendships everywhere he went, from the hardwood flooring community and The Dust Life, to liver support groups, the comedy world, and friends across the country and around the world.
Anyone who knew my dad knew he was always ready with a story, a joke, or some advice. He stood up for the little guy, cared deeply about people, and never hesitated to help someone in need. He touched far more lives than he probably ever realized.
Growing up, some of my best memories were spending weekends with him at motocross races, learning from him on job sites, and watching the way he treated people. He wasn't perfect, but he was my dad, and I loved him deeply. He loved his family fiercely, and I know how proud he was of the life he built and the people he loved.
As we navigate this difficult time, we are asking for help to offset funeral and memorial expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to our family.
