Dear Friends and Donors, I hope you're well! I'm MB, reaching out to support my dear family friend, Abdul Qader Abu Samra. Abdo is a dedicated frontline worker and a true humanitarian. His selflessness and commitment to helping others are truly inspiring. Let's come together to support someone who gives so much to those in need. He is the one of the most special people I know. Please listen to his story below

My name is Abdo, and I'm reaching out to you not just as a frontline medical worker but as someone whose heart is intertwined with the hope of my community. For the past 20 months, l've witnessed unimaginable challenges and crushing realities, no human being is meant to bare. With each passing day, the weight of our struggles seems to grow heavier and ask all of you to stay by our side. We were able to raise funds in the beginning, but because of the extended timeframe of the situation we’re seeking continued support. When I chose to volunteer at the frontline, I knew I was stepping into the midst of danger, but I couldn't turn my back on my people. In the beginning I was gravely inured, and was at risk of losing my ability to walk and my leg. I was told there was no hope of recovery. Slowly and thankfully, I have regained most of my mobility and I am able to work in some capacity again. Serving my community isn't just an honor; it's a calling that drives me every single day. That said,  I also have a family I must provide for; my duties are twofold.

As one of the main providers for my extended family, l've faced overwhelming obstacles. While we are so thankful we managed to gather earlier support, the prolonged crisis has made it increasingly difficult and impossible to meet all our needs. Those funds have been drastically depleted due to rising food prices in the skyrocketing extremes and impossibility of living in Gaza right now. Borders have been closed since March and the situation has become extremely dire. Famine is rampant, and all vital aid has been absent for over four months. The remaining supplies in the market are unaffordable without ongoing assistance.

In addition to providing food, we have critical expenses; rent for an extended family as our homes were completely destroyed, medicine for multiple members of my family, and funds for the evacuation we hope will be possible when the borders reopen. Though we love our homeland, we seek to leave this devastation, unfortunately there is no way to sustain a life here at the present. We  need your help to make this happen.

I’m grateful to have my dear friend MB by my side. She is  family to us, and together, we are committed to transparency in how we use the funds raised.

We initially hoped for an evacuation by now, but circumstances have delayed those plans. So, we're once again reaching out for help. Our goal is to raise $5000-20,000 to cover essential needs: continued housing for the short term, access to food and medicine when available, schooling for my siblings, helping extended family/community without means, and the evacuation costs when the time comes. This is the most important part. We need to be ready to leave as soon as this is an option

If you have any questions or would like to know more, please don't hesitate to reach out to either of us. We're here to share our journey with you. Abdo can be reached on insta @abdo_abo_samra9 and you can also reach out to me here on the platform for more info.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, support, and solidarity. Your kindness means the world to us! Together, we can be community in these challenging and devastating times.

With gratitude,

Abdo and MB

Hello friends, this is Abdul. I want to sincerely thank you for your incredible kindness and support during these challenging times. I am grateful to share that, thanks to your generosity, we have met our fundraising goal and will be closing the campaign. Despite the devastation, we remain resilient, and your compassion has truly lightened my family's burden during this heartbreaking journey.

Thanks to your gifts, I've been able to find a new path and have decided to focus on my work, building a new life with my wife, and self-sustaining opportunities. To show my gratitude, I wanted to give some highlights of what your donations made possible.

As our community, you helped my extended family and me buy food, water, and medical supplies during famine and amid closed borders; this was a lifeline. We secured housing after we lost our home and were displaced multiple times; we wouldn't have survived without this help. Most importantly, I was able to help my siblings with school, start working again, and get part of my family to safety.

On a personal note, this past spring, as you know, I was lucky enough to meet and marry my wife, Suhair. Things are happy with us despite everything happening in Gaza; we are building our future together because that is what love does: it continues with hope even amongst despair. I continue my medical work and look for new opportunities. Most importantly, we want you to know we are trying to survive and build our lives again, which is important to us right now, at least to try. If circumstances change in the future and we need monetary help again, we will reach out to you, our global community.

Finally, I want to thank my dear friend MB; she is like family to us, and we wouldn't have gotten through this without her. Having someone who loves and supports us so completely was a true blessing and gift beyond words; she did everything possible to help us and continues to do so in a myriad of ways.

We send our love and ask you to keep praying, giving, and standing with us and everyone in Gaza. Blessings to you all.

Good evening dear Friends  and Donors. Below is an Update form Abdul:

“Hello friends, Abdul here and I would like to share some updates with everyone. First, apologies for the delays in communicating, our life here has been complicated, uncertain, and  busy. Second, I am pleased to announce I am engaged to be married, and I will soon be starting a new life with my wife. We are grateful to have found love despite the circumstances. Thirdly, my whole family is doing okay despite the circumstances and trying their best

Regarding my personal situation, I am working part-time but for safety reasons, I am unable to provide more details. Your donations have been a lifeline for myself, my extended family and now my new wife.  We remain hopeful that when the time is right we may leave or have the ability to build again; the future is unknown for us yet we try to remain hopeful. Thank you for your solidarity it means a great deal to me.

If you would still like to contribute, I would be grateful for any kindness sent my way. My family is getting bigger and we all do this together. Help is a lifeline in all things

Warm regards,
Abdul “Abd”

Dear friends and compassionate supporters,

We're sending an urgent update about our dear friend Abdo Abu Samra. The situation in Gaza is worsening rapidly, and your support is more crucial than ever. Together, we can make a real difference during these challenging times.

Abdo and his family currently have food for this week, but supplies are dwindling quickly. Border closures and restrictions are driving prices sky-high, making it harder for them to get by.

To support Abdo even more, we're introducing a new approach: encouraging donations in any amount you can give as often as possible, as well as weekly or monthly donations. Regular contributions will provide a stable foundation of aid, allowing Abdo’s family to plan ahead and focus on surviving, rather than constantly struggling to meet basic needs. Remember, every bit helps—whether you give regularly or occasionally, your generosity expands our collective reach.

For Abdo and his their minimum weekly food expenses are about $300-400, along with approximately $400 monthly for rent and medicine for his mother, who faces severe health challenges. We aim to raise a monthly support target of $1,500 to $2,000 to meet these critical needs. With your help, we can achieve this.

Cold season is also quickly approaching and they had to leave everything behind with another displacement. They’ll soon need warm clothing—each coat costs around $75-100 for adults, with fees, approximately $105-140 per coat. We aim to provide five warm coats, totaling roughly $525-700.

Thank you all for your unwavering compassion and support. We are also doing everything we can to prepare for another possible displacement. Your kindness and solidarity truly have been a lifeline. Let's all continue down this path together

Sincerely,

Abdo

Hey, friend and donors

Abdo and I wanted to update everyone on what’s happening with the family. We wish we could come to you with better news, but as you all know, the situation keeps getting more dire by the day. I spoke with Abdo this morning and want to give him some hope where there is none.  As his friend and family, I'm asking if we can get a big push of solidarity and donations this week; $500 would be a lifeline. They urgently need assistance with rent, flour, medications, and access to clean water.

Abdo is tirelessly working multiple jobs as a paramedic and EMT, risking his own safety to serve his community. Unfortunately, with the borders closed, aid is scarce and often priced beyond what struggling families can afford, especially without stable employment.

To make matters more heartbreaking, Abdo's mother is unwell and requires continuous care, medication, and nutritious food.

Your support has been outstanding for Abdo and his loved ones.  I kindly ask you to share this message widely in your community. Any contribution, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference in helping them get the essentials they need.

I believe we can redirect our resources together to support them again. Your compassion means the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for it all.

Sincerely,

Abdo, Nahla, Noor, Wesam, and Layan

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you well. My heart is heavy as I share an urgent update about my dear friend Abdo and the family; Nahla, Noor, Lian, and Wesam; along with extended family members. The situation they are facing is truly heartbreaking—what was once severe has now escalated to catastrophic levels. They are enduring a level of famine that is beyond what most of us can imagine.

The family are struggling to find enough food to eat, often going days without nourishment. Abdo is having to continue working the frontlines despite having no way to sustain himself. The resources they desperately need, like flour, rice and vegetables, are simply out of reach with resources and funds being sent to them. They are so weak from hunger that it’s a challenge for them to care for their mother Nahla, work,  and search for the food available. The water is contaminated, some markets are closing due to lack of supplies, and even the minimal food that remains and is available is prohibitively priced, thus they need our continued donations for this as well as evacuation when the time comes.

Tragically, there is enough aid waiting just across the border that could sustain these families and all of Gaza for the next three months, but it is being denied access. It breaks my heart to see the family of my heart and my best friends suffering like this.

I am reaching out to all of you with kind and generous hearts to help in any way you can. Every contribution, no matter how small, could be a lifeline for them. Please share this message within your communities, raise awareness about this dire situation, and contact your representatives to let them know that this cannot go on.

The need for hope and solidarity has never been greater. Many of you have been incredibly generous in the past, and I’m asking you to dig deep once more.

Thank you for taking the time to read this heartfelt plea. Your compassion means the world.

Sincerely

Abdo
