So... I'm 'unhoused' in Indiana where they just made it illegal. Trump built one of his internment camps here and I guess they're looking to fill the...floors? There are no beds.
Anyway, I'm supposed to talk about me. I'm a senior type person, I'm trying to get through school, I'm trying to start a small business... and I live in my car with 2 cats. I have health issues I won't go into here, can't afford my meds, and every time I go to sleep I wonder if I will wake up. Or if I even want to.
I don't think Ican adequately describe the constant terror... the judgment from others, as well as myself, the panic 'attacks' that go on for days, and days. And days. The decisions I have to make like do I feed myself or pay the gym bill so I can shower? Do I risk staying at the local shelter... the filthy, louse infested shelter? Do I go do my laundry for 'free' at the local community facility that's covered in human refuse, where the machines are surrounded by piles of abandoned, mouldering clothing littered with dirty needles? Do I listen to yet another social worker tell me there's not a lot of assistance available because I'm not an addict or a single mother?
A van would be nice. Something I can sleep lying down in. College tuition would be nice. I'm enrolled to take a short nursing course. Closed toe shoes would be nice... size 10 or 11. Since I can never put my feet up, my feet and legs swell. Money for meds would be nice. I'm not really sure people will help. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about sneaking into Canada. People are full of (mostly) kind words... and terrible advice, which they dole out with enthusiasm. God help me if I refuse to take it.
I just don't want to end up in one of Trump's camp incinerators.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
