Who I am:
My name is Subhi Barakat, a realtor at Engel and Völkers, Gestalt Group, San Francisco. EV is a huge champion of the Special Olympics and all the offices in the Bay Area are raising funds in a joint effort the further unify the Special Olympics Worldwide.
Since the 3rd grade, I have been actively involved in the special needs community. I participated in programs that paired a special needs student with me and I was their guide/liaison by getting them to class and helping them integrate into a typical school day. This has been so rewarding and fulfilling. I am still in contact with some of the beautiful humans to this day.
The Special Olympics Cause:

• 91¢ of every $1 goes to support our programs.
• All programs and services are provided free of charge for athletes and their families (including transportation, facilities, uniforms, etc.).
• Support helps to grow Special Olympics programs in schools and in the healthcare field, where athletes currently face obstacles to maintaining their best health.
• Athletes feel empowered through community and corporate support and take on new roles in leadership, the workforce and other responsibilities.
