Ashlee and Rosa have 3 weeks to move all their belongings from their old housing, to a storage unit/and friends home. Problem is, storage units are EXPENSIVE. It could be $200-300 a month for a unit big enough to store a queen size medical bed, a regular king bed, and around 40 boxes. We are going to condense the best we can but time is limited and what time we do have, is also sparing due to Ashlee’s appointments, Rosa working, friends schedules etc. we are trying our best to work together, but being able to get one moving truck and one storage unit would be so helpful- instead of taking a million trips and having things separated. We will be getting permanent housing in a few short months, so we will have to do this all over again. It will be so much easier to keep it together. Any extra funds would go towards a moving truck when permanent housing is available and for rides to appointments for ashlee.
from Ashlee’s facebook:
Oh, your barely hanging onto your life- literally?
Not my problem. so get all of your stuff out of my house by the end of the month, even though the agreement was for our stuff to be there for a few more months.
Just found this out last night. Woke up with my heart beating out of my chest. Trying to make sense of this.
Am I a shitty person? What did I do to deserve this life?
Every breathe I make, Is a struggle. I can't take anything else on, but now this.
it’s a level of disregard I genuinely can’t wrap my head around.
So now we’re faced with moving our entire lives—king bed, queen bed, 50+ boxes on an urgent timeline.
That means finding storage for a few months, organizing YOUR HELP to move it all out, and then doing it all over again when we find permanent housing in just a few more months.
We are currently in temporary housing. We can not bring anything else here.
What I don’t know is how we’re realistically supposed to get through this.
Three weeks sounds like time, but it really isn’t.
That leaves us with one weekend to pack and two weekends to move everything.
During the week, Rosamaria Rodriguez is working and then caring for me. I rely on her for my daily care, tube feeds, medications, basic needs. It takes hours just to manage my medical routine. There isn't even enough time in the evenings to manage my needs, once Rosa gets home. let alone trying to commute 25 minutes one way just to pack to get ready to move everything. I have weekly Saturday medical appointments on top of my 8+ appointments a week.
I am fighting for my life. Did I mention that?
So when exactly are we supposed to pack up our entire life and move it?
I’m trying to stay grounded, but I’d be lying if I said this doesn’t feel impossible right now. I feel defeated. I feel betrayed. And I keep wondering how this is all supposed to come together.
We’re doing our best to figure it out, but right now, it feels like more than we can carry alone.
If you've read this far, then maybe you are wanting to help? I wonder if I can organize a group of you all, on the same saturday, to help move everything.
Would you be willing to sacrifice your Saturday, energy, and vehicle space, with multiple trips?
Move to where? Idk! But the first step is figuring out if we even have help to get it from 1 location to another. (Romulus to Ypsilanti) I assume.
We are also in need of boxes, packing supplies, and a king and queen bed cover, specifically for moving.
If we don't have your help, then we may just have to sacrifice letting everything go.
If your willing to rally with us, comment below. Then I will send a mesage out to you on specifics.
