Hi, my name is Alisha, and I'm reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times in my life.
**My Story:**
I met my husband when I was just 13 years old. Years later, we married and had a beautiful baby together, and he became a loving stepfather to my oldest child. For a while, our family seemed complete - he was an amazing dad and had turned his life around after completing parole.
However, things took a devastating turn when he stopped working and our relationship deteriorated. What followed were two horrific incidents that changed my life forever. In the first attack, he stabbed me in the back of the head five times. After serving time in prison, he was released and held me at knifepoint for 15 terrifying hours in an orchard, following another brutal assault in a hotel room.
**Where I Am Now:**
As a result of this trauma, I lost everything - my home, my possessions, and most heartbreakingly, daily access to my children. The physical and emotional wounds from these attacks have left me with ongoing medical issues that require regular treatment and monitoring.
**Why I Need Your Help:**
Having reliable transportation is absolutely essential for me as a domestic violence survivor. A car would allow me to:
- Safely travel to medical appointments for my ongoing health issues
- Maintain employment to rebuild financial stability
- Most importantly, visit and spend time with my children
- Access essential services and support resources
- Maintain the independence that's crucial for my safety and healing
**Your Impact:**
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help me take this critical step toward rebuilding my life. Transportation isn't just about getting from point A to point B - it's about reclaiming my independence, maintaining my health, and reconnecting with my children.
I'm working hard to piece my life back together, but I can't do it alone. Your support would mean everything to a survivor who's fighting to create a safe, stable future.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide.
With gratitude,
Alisha
