Hello -
My name is Gaylon. A father of six with 3 boys and 3 girls. Last year , the unimaginable happened to my family. Even as I write, it's challenging just talking about what occurred. My eldest daughter, now 19, was a victim of Human Trafficking. She was manipulated, forced to use drugs, emotionally abused and trafficked in California. Relocating to Idaho was a reset for us all.
My wife and I were aware of things like this happening around the world, but never did we imagine it would happen so close to home. My family was devastated and we are now on on a long term journey of counseling, forgiveness and letting go. Striving to cope each day with how our daughter feels and what she is internally going through on a day to day basis has been a big challenge.
My daughter still does not feel safe and at ease being that California, specifically Oakland, is far too close for her perpetrators to reach her. Furthermore, this is why she will be re-locating far east with immediate relatives who will welcome her with open arms. Our fundraiser will help support relocation costs and allow the physical and mental support she urgently needs at this time.
