My name is Haleigh. I am a new single mom in the Denver area. I am currently on unpaid maternity leave. I was looking to find a remote career. I used indeed as I always have to find a job to cover my bills and any needs for my baby. I got offered a job interview so I did the interview and was offered a job that I accepted by signing an employment letter. They let me know they were going to overnight a check to me so I could get my equipment and start work next week. I got the check the next morning deposited it and sent the money to my "supervisor in denver" to get the equipment. The next night after sending the money the check bounced in my account and that put me out $4,500.00. They then sent me another check that was supposed to "cover my other equipment" and wanted me to go buy a new mac book. When I found out the check bounced. I did NOT touch the other check in my account. Monday rolls around and they have sent me another check. That check has not been deposited or touched. The checks fooled me as I was checking to make sure they were real they had the watermarks and my bank accepted the checks. This story has been reported to my local police department and fox news in hopes it helps others out, especially during the holiday season and for anyone else in my situation with a newborn and not getting any paid time off. I am now having to go back to the office before 6 weeks post partum to help get myself back in to a good financial position. But I will unfortunately be losing that extra time with my newborn baby. I hope this reaches the right audience and anything truly helps.
Thank you for taking time to read about my story and happy holidays!
