Help Scott and Penelope After a Devastating Crash
Scott and his 5-year-old granddaughter Penelope were on their way to the YWCA so she could play with her little friends when their lives were changed forever.
They were hit head-on by a truck that crossed the double yellow line. As of now, there are no charges, but we encourage you to read the news coverage and look at the photos of the crash to understand the severity of what happened.

Both Scott and Penelope are in comas with traumatic brain injuries. Their futures are uncertain, and their road to recovery — if it comes — will be long, difficult, and costly.
Scott has already undergone multiple surgeries for internal bleeding and broken bones, and he will need many more. Penelope was life-flighted twice to get to Hershey PICU for emergency neurosurgery. Her skull and facial fractures may require multiple facial reconstruction surgeries if she survives. Her head remains open to relieve brain swelling, and she may also need surgery on her spleen.
This is every family’s worst nightmare.
Scott is a devoted father and grandfather who has always worked multiple jobs to provide for his family. He still has a 16-year-old daughter at home. Penelope’s mother, Finley, is unable to return to work right now. She hasn’t been at her job long enough to qualify for FMLA or disability, and her focus is on being by her daughter’s side.
We’re asking for your help to ease the overwhelming financial burden this family is facing:
๐น Mounting medical bills
๐น Emergency transport and surgeries
๐น Daily living expenses for the family
๐น Lost income and long-term care
๐น Travel and lodging for family staying near the hospital
This fundraiser will directly support Scott, Penelope, and their immediate family during this unimaginable time. Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Every bit helps — and your kindness gives them hope.
๐ Thank you for standing with them.
