Hello friends and family:
My baby cat Grogu is in the hospital again. He was in a lot of pain and seizing, panting, unable to stand up. His body temp was 97.6 (low). It was really scary and we were lucky to find a vet that could care for his condition.
He apparently has a behavior disorder that makes him want to chew on and eat squishy/chewy things like plastic or silicone. I hid my exercise bands in a plastic bin with the lid on it and put them in my closet.
The other night, he broke into my closet and cracked open the plastic bin to get the exercise bands and proceeded to eat them. I don't even know how he knew where they were let alone break into that box. Here is a photo of what he ate:

This has happened twice before with random things like foam from my mattress topper and exercise bands.
I do have a solution/plan in place so this doesn't happen again and have outlined them at the end of this message.
As for this fundraiser, Avi and I need help recovering from this financially. The surgery, blood work, x-rays, and exams came out to be a total of $2924, and we will need to purchase a large kennel to keep Grogu in when he isn't being supervised. They are a little pricey.
The past two surgeries have been really difficult to afford, and this one even moreso. I know times are tough for all-- so every little bit helps.
The solution so this doesn't happen again:
My place is pretty baby proof but we will need to buy a large kennel that is safe with no foreign objects to eat.We will need to place him in there when we cannot directly supervise him.
He is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery and I will be able to pick him up tomorrow. I will keep you all updated on his progress.
Thank you very much for reading this and please share it with your animal-loving friends if you are comfortable doing so.
