Growing up, my mother gifted me my first two cars, and they became more than just vehicles to me—they were a testament to the lessons she instilled in me. We spent countless hours rebuilding them, hands greasy and hearts full, talking and learning together. These cars, a 1985 model among them, captured my spirit and guided me into becoming a mechanically inclined welder. It was through these projects that I learned resilience and creativity, shaping who I am today. But now, these cars have been stolen from me under heartbreaking circumstances.
In an unfortunate turn of events, they were illegally sold by someone I trusted, and despite involving the police and confronting a shady dealership in Orlando, my cars remain out of reach. I was devastated when I learned that during the chaotic times of COVID-19, someone obtained an abandoned title on one of them. My ex unwittingly enabled this betrayal by giving power of attorney to a man who misused it out of spite. This loss has caused a great deal of pain—a piece of my past snatched away, both emotionally and physically.
These cars are more than just metal and gears; they represent pivotal moments with my mother and the values she imparted. They are a family legacy I hope to pass down, teaching my niece, Angel, the same skills and bonding that my mother taught me. I’m seeking $1,500 to reclaim these vital parts of my life, to restore not only the cars but also the connection to my heritage. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey—I am forever grateful for your kindness and support.
