The Oakland Mills Blacksmith House and Shop complex is architecturally significant as a rare surviving group of buildings that have served as the dwelling and workplace of a series of blacksmiths from c. 1820 to 1950.
The goal of the project is to restore, rebuild and repurpose the 2 acre property and historic blacksmith barn into a multi-functional art-space/destination that will serve local artist of all disciplines , students, hobbyists and the general public.
