In December 2018, my life took an unexpected turn when I injured my right shoulder while working as a dog groomer. I tore several ligaments, and despite the years that have passed, the pain remains a daily battle. Today, as I sit in urgent care unable to move my arm, I'm reminded of how persistent and challenging this journey has been. Although the X-rays look fine, the deep pain tells another story, one that requires an MRI for answers. Without insurance or a steady job, accessing the health care I need feels like an uphill climb, especially after being denied state medical assistance.
Living in San Antonio with my children, my priority has always been to be present and active in their lives. Now, facing the limitations of my injury, it’s becoming more difficult to be there for them. I don’t just need an MRI for my shoulder—I also desperately need a complete physical and new glasses. I've tried every program I could, but the doors keep closing. It’s incredibly frustrating and, honestly, a bit frightening. I’m reaching out, hoping for support that could bring relief and help me regain my health for my family's sake.
