Mimosa Has Survived Being Failed Again and Again. Now She Finally Has a Real Chance.

Mimosa’s story began on Skid Row, where she was found tied to a pole and removed by LA City Animal Services.

A rescue took responsibility for her and sent her to Mexico for a two-week train-and-board program. When the training ended, she was brought back to California and placed in a home that was not prepared to handle her needs.

The placement quickly fell apart. Mimosa got loose and, once again, ended up in the custody of LA City Animal Services.

The same rescue pulled her from the shelter a second time and placed her in boarding. As the boarding bill continued to grow, the rescue said that sending her back to Mexico would be cheaper because he was running out of options.

Instead, Mimosa was eventually abandoned in boarding with no plan and an unpaid bill. She was at risk of being sent to Baldwin Park Animal Shelter.

After surviving Skid Row, being tied to a pole, two stays in the shelter system, an unsuccessful placement, and months of boarding, Mimosa was once again facing an uncertain future.

Thankfully, Shelter Street Dogs stepped in.

We have now carefully vetted an adopter who is ready to give Mimosa the safe, stable and committed home she has always deserved. But after everything that has gone wrong in her past, we do not want to simply hand her off to a transporter and hope for the best.

We want to personally bring Mimosa to her adopter, meet them in person, help her settle in and stay nearby for a few days to make sure the transition goes properly. We want to be there to support both Mimosa and her new family and make absolutely certain this is the right fit.

We want this to be Mimosa’s final rescue, her final placement and the beginning of the rest of her life.

We are raising $3,200 to cover:

Rental car: $640

Gas for the round trip: $800

Treatment for her ear infection: $360

Outstanding boarding expenses: $1,400

Mimosa has already survived so much. She should not have to survive another failed plan.

Please help us get her home safely, responsibly and for the last time.
