My name is Tom Thurmond, and I'm trying to help out my dear friend Paul Arnold. He helped me out all last year when I was, and still am, very sick. He took me to the hospital every time I had to go, no matter what time of the day or night it was. He doesn't have a car of his own now.

Ā

Paul is on disability. His Mom dropped him out of a 2nd story window when he was 3 years old because he was crying too much. He suffered a severe head injury which has left him disabled for life. He receives less than $1000 a month in disability benefits, which is hardly enough to get by.

Ā

His grandfather on his dad's side of the family adopted him when he got out of the hospital from his severe head injury. So he was raised by his grandfather and grandmother. They gave him a very good home and enrolled him in a school for the disabled when he came of school age.

Ā

He tried working at some jobs when he got older but was always let go because he was slow.

Ā

His grandfather bought him a home to live in and paid for it in full. Before his grandfather died, he put the house in his daughter's name, Paul's aunt, for her to oversee it for him. It was supposed to be given to Paul in his name after he showed he could take care of it. And he did very well in taking care of it. But for some reason, it was never transferred to Paul to have it as his own home in his name and ownership. Then his aunt died and it was passed onto another family member and NOT to Paul as his grandfather intended it to be.

Ā

Now he has to pay the family member who has the title to his home for the insurance and taxes, which are very high. If the home would just be given to him like his grandfather intended, he would only have to pay for insurance for the house and not property taxes because he is on disability and is not required to pay taxes on it.

Ā

He is now behind on the money he owes to pay for the taxes and insurance he owes to his cousin who has the title and is being threatened to have to move out! The tax bill is behind and he needs to pay this as soon as possible or there will be penalties that he will be libel for.

Ā

He has lived in this house for 25 years. Where is he supposed to go? Why isn’t this house just given to him? I think someone just wants to keep this house for themselves. This is so wrong. He is being threatened with homelessness, him and his dog Goldie. He doesn’t deserve to lose the house he’s lived in for 25 years.

Ā

Right now,Ā he needs some quick money to pay for the bills he is behind by 2 months and also owes on his electric and water bill.Ā He is in a real jam right now and is very depressed and extremely worried

Ā

He needs at least $5000 to get all caught up on his bills.Ā Please help if you can. Even just a few dollars from many people can add up and make all the difference for him and his situation. Thank you and God bless you. Tom

Ā

Update : Paul lost the case...as of this date 2-2-26 he is still living in his home...but that could change any day now...he need to rase at least $5,000 dollars to pay the property tax and then he could stay in his home...he needs it fast...above are 2 new documents that show the outcome of the trial and the property tax due...please help if you can any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Ā Update: Paul is now living in an apartment but still wants to get the home back that his grandfather bought for him...or at least get a place that is all his and that he can buy so he will have a home that is his own that is bought and paid for, and can not be taken away from him ever again...please donate to this fundraiser if your able to...thank you very much...Tom
