Our Story:
I am married to a woman and I have two daughters. I got divorced in 2017 from a man while he was living in Virginia and I, living in Texas where he told me to move to. I have been raising my daughters as a single mother for 3.5 years until recently, I married the love of my life. She is an incredible person and parent figure in the girls' lives.
We chose to move to McAllen, because the geographic restriction in my divorce decree was lifted once I moved the first time. In a recent court hearing, the decision was made that the geographic restriction can magically be resurrected whenever they feel like it should be. The decision that was made was unlawful. The ruling was made before hearing any of the true facts of the case. The order is to break up our family and rip the girls from an amazing school that has resources and is a top school district in the state of Texas. In order to do what's best for our girls and to prevent a lifetime of being in court, we have to move back to Central Texas. We are moving as a family but we are having to start over completely. We have to maintain two households because we have only owned our home in McAllen for less than a year. We cannot sell and we are having to rent a home in Central Texas.
No one is looking at the best interest of the children because they are having to move during Christmas time and move to another school. It will be a hardship on our family but we will thrive and we will perservere! Please support our family during this huge change.
It's okay to be gay! Our family deserves equality! My children deserve to not be uprooted and put in a worse situation because it was decided on opinion and cares nothing about how any decision will affect two small children. It's so heartbreaking that two beautiful girls are being drug around and they have no choice in the matter. The capacity of the effects this will have on them is extremely sad. My children deserve a voice, they deserve to be heard without manipulation.
Please help us in this fight for justice for our family. Thank you so much.
