This is my beautiful granddaughter samantha. She has a rare genetic disorder called cystosis. Basically, it is a metabolic disease that causes destructive crystals to form inside her cells. It starts in the kidneys and the eyes. The damage is so severe at this point that Sam has been accepted onto the kidney transplant list. However, Samantha is listed as in-active due to her struggle to comply with her medications. The medications make her very nauseous. Samantha is also 13 which in and of itself can be a struggle. Samantha has been struggling with some anxiety and depression. I am her primary caregiver but I have a very demanding job that includes late nights and overtime. This has made it very difficult for me to be there for Samantha. I am hoping to raise enough money to take some time off work so I can be there for Samantha. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Samantha is an amazing girl with a fabulous sense of humor and I really need to be there for her right now.
