Hello everyone my name is Peggy Crispin I was the owner of the Catfish Haven in Green Valley Ranch. In 2020 COVID-19 hit and my landlord refused to work with me on the rent when my bar and the cabaret license was closed down. The rent at my restaurant lounge was $18,000 a month. I offered Brown and Associates which is the owner of the building $12,500 a month for rent until the bar was open back up or until we could get back up to 85% capacity. I continue to make the rent payment of $12,500 a month along with paying all of the bills that it took to keep the restaurant going. Brown and associates continue to collect the cam money which is used to keep the maintenance of the building and the surrounding areas, but they didn't maintain the area. The owner Sam Brown and Brown and Associates took seven months off From maintenance During COVID-19 when I left in October 2020 . Brown and associates would rather Sue me then let me run my restaurant and bar like I have been doing for the last three years at their place/establishment. In July 2020 Drew Williams, the manager at Brown and Associate personally called me to thank me for paying my rent and stated that I was the only one that was paying their rent, even bigger companies that they managed we're not paying their rent. There was a lot of racial profile on the part of Sam Brown. He personally told me he didn't expect me to be open three months. Sam Brown seen that the restaurant was open and making money and was displeased, greed and racism played a big factor in the reason I lost my restaurant and bar. COVID-19 was a perfect way to get Catfish Haven out of the building, and they did just that. I personally filed against Browns and Associate but when I took it to court the judge dismissed my claim in Granited Brown and Associate their counter claim because I didn't have an Attorney.
I'm asking for help to pay off the lawsuit so that I don't have to file for bankruptcy. Filing for bankruptcy would make it difficult for me to open up any other establishment.
