Update: Ellie was laid to rest after finding the issue was more advanced than what we could manage. Even if we had raised the funds the vet team was not able to get her heart rate down enough to have been able to try surgery. With the emergency vet visit costing just shy of $3,000 and having a family member haul her in the middle of the night for us because our trucks currently out of commission we are looking to raise 3,000 to cover the vet bills and some of the hauling costs.
update #1 - we arrived at the vet and are awaiting test results
We are currently on our way to the emergency vet clinic with our sweet filly, Ellie. She’s only almost 2 years old and is fighting a severe case of colic/enteritis. This came on suddenly, and her condition is serious.
Ellie means everything to our family. She’s not just a horse, she’s part of us, and seeing her in this kind of pain is absolutely heartbreaking.
The veterinarians have told us she may need emergency, life-saving surgery. We are doing everything we can to give her a chance, but the cost of treatment and possible surgery is overwhelming and beyond what we can handle alone.
We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts for any help, whether that’s a donation, sharing this post, or keeping Ellie in your thoughts and prayers.
Time is critical right now, and we are holding onto hope that she can pull through this.
Thank you for standing with us and for helping us fight for Ellie.
