My name is ERIKA, and I’m a single mom of two little girls, ages 2 and 3. I’m also a full-time nursing student in my final year, completing 40 hours a week of unpaid clinicals while raising my girls.
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this again. In May 2025, during a tornado, my neighbor’s tree fell on my car and crushed it. It took me six incredibly difficult months of sacrificing and saving every dime I could to purchase another vehicle.
Then, on August 4, 2026, everything changed again. My car was legally parked downtown when a suspect fleeing police at high speed in a stolen vehicle crashed into it and totaled it. Thankfully, my daughters and I were not inside. Because the other vehicle was stolen and I only carried liability insurance on my older car, I am now left without a vehicle or the means to replace it.
Without transportation, I lost my job, and I have no reliable way to get to school, clinicals, or medical appointments—or to get my daughters where they need to go. One of my daughters has a heart condition, and dependable transportation is especially important for her appointments.
I’m back at square one, and this time I desperately need help. I’m asking for donations toward a reliable vehicle so I can finish nursing school, care for my children, get back to work, and rebuild our stability.
I don’t like asking for help, but right now I truly need it. I haven’t lost my faith. Any donation, share, or prayer means more to my girls and me than I can express. Thank you. ❤️
