I’m a disabled Army veteran from Pensacola, Florida, and life has been throwing some tough challenges my way. Battling cancer has been an immense fight; it left me with polyneuropathy, making simple tasks like walking and feeling my toes uncertain and difficult. Recently, I faced the unexpected news that my cancer levels are rising again, which has reopened a chapter I hoped was closed. Each day presents a new battle, both physically and emotionally, but I’m determined to continue pushing forward with hope and resilience. The daily struggles can be exhausting, but I find solace in small, meaningful moments—catching up with friends from my service days or relishing the peace of a quiet morning. These moments bolster my strength and remind me of the supportive community I’m fortunate to have. Amid this personal battle, I need a power wheelchair to improve my mobility and regain some independence in my daily life.
