My name is Brittney, and I am a mother of four working to stabilize my family after leaving a domestic violence situation. I am requesting temporary assistance while navigating legal proceedings, child services, education, and essential living needs during a critical transition period.

 

After separating I was left without shared financial support. He has cut off access to all shared income.At the time of separation, I was not employed, and he was the sole income earner. Financial assistance for household and transportation expenses  are being withheld, despite ongoing obligations and the immediate needs of our children.

 

A vehicle in my name was given to my oldest and was not paid due to her searching for a job and my spouse not giving adequate time for her to start making the payments along with his refusal to pay and was subsequently repossessed. Separately prior to, another vehicle was obtained and presented as a gift, not as a replacement vehicle or shared household transportation. Payments for that vehicle were also not maintained such as tag and title were never completed and have been expired since September. This has resulted in a lack of reliable and legal transportation during a time when transportation is essential.

 

The loss of transportation has created immediate hardship, as I am required to attend:

 

• School to complete my education and my children 
• Court and legal appointments
• DHS-related obligations
• Medical and therapy appointments for my youngest child

 

 

My youngest child has recently begun SoonerStart early intervention services following developmental screening. These services are time-sensitive and require consistent attendance. Missed or delayed appointments can impact her progress and long-term outcomes.

 

In addition, I am needing to work with an attorney to ensure my children’s safety, stability, and best interests are protected. Due to ongoing DHS involvement and legal proceedings, retaining counsel is necessary but financially overwhelming during this period of transition.

 

I am seeking assistance to help cover:

 

• Attorney and legal fees
• Transportation needs, including securing safe, legal transportation
• Housing and basic living expenses
• Childcare and early intervention-related costs
• Short-term financial stabilization while completing school and securing employment

 

 

This fundraiser is intended as a temporary bridge, not a permanent solution. I am actively enrolled in school, working toward employment, and committed to rebuilding stability and independence for my children. The urgency lies in preventing further disruption to housing, education, legal compliance, and my child’s early intervention services.
