Educational Cultural Mission
Hello, my name is Crystal Cauley and in 2019 I stepped out on faith and created art projects, exhibits and performing art events that is free to the public! The purpose of this intiative is to preserve African American history with art, storytelling and educational events that everyone can enjoy. I have been able to present inside of classrooms, museums, library auditoriums, community parks, church congregations and online.
The name of my business is Black History Collective of Henderson County, NC. I also have a dream to do mobile exhibits across the United States and in Museums. I enjoy spending my time giving back to my community in numerous ways. I have been approached since 2019 to continue to offer public cultural exhibits, educational talks and art and at first I was focused on giving back and holding up my community 1st. Presently, I realize now is the time to continue this work working with teachers especially in our local school system to help educate about African American history while making learning fun and inclusive for everyone! I support the Arts program and diversity and inclusion intiatives. My mission is to work with rural areas as well that seek diversity in their cities, counties and schools.
Financial donations will help with numerous things such as paying for the storage of art, African artifacts, exhibit material and setup equipment. Money is needed for the purchase of maintenance on my current van to continue transporting tables, art, mask/statues, rolling carts and easels. Money donations are needed for the purchase of camera for event photography purposes, funds to rent larger spaces for performing art events and payment to the professionsl performers for future community events and school events.
