Hi π If you know us, then you know we are at the end of what we can do alone to continue to survive. Tony was injured at work Dec 2022. He has been off work since with $1500/month work comp. He had surgery on his shoulder in May. He has had 2 cortisone injections before and after his surgery. The insurance Co dr said that 1 month after last injection he should be back to work so Nov 2, 2023 they stopped his payments and we had to now get an attorney involved. Now thru all of 2022, Shelly's fibromyalgia flared up and she started slurring words and shuffling her feet when walking. Thru multiple dr visits she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, neuropathy and muscle movement disorder. In December 2022, 1 of her Dr's cut her hours to 20/week and prescribed a walker. In May, the week before Tony's surgery, and after multiple MRIs and specialist visits, her Dr said it was time for her to be done working. After 26 yeara at the La Crosse Post Office, MAY 8, 2023 was her last day of work. Applied for SSD in May and Retirement Disability from the Post Office in June. Social Security could take 3 years, i do have an attorney. Just found out today from OPM that they could take another 6 months to process because disabilty Retirement is different process than regular retirement. Spent the savings we had for the 3 months Retirement should take to try to keep us up to date on bills. Duting the retirement process you cannot touch your THRIFT SAVINGS ACCOUNT even though it would help. We just keep falling further behind every month. Phones are off and on wifi only. We are part of the affordable connectivity act that is providing internet We struggle to find/borrow money for copays for medications. All credit cards are full and now closed. Credit score took a nose dive. We have foodstamps $200/month) and energy assistance (that paid $700). Applied for rental assistance but we are 2 months behind in rent and our landlady is being as patient as she can. Foodstamps does not provide enough for 2 people that are home 24/7 except dr appointments. We know it is the Holiday Season but if there is any help you can give, it will be paid back or paid forward. Those that have helped, we thank you dearly. You have helped so much. If you cannot donate, we understand. Please share the post and a prayer. Love to all. Shelly and Antonio
