My name is Majd Baroud, and I am from Gaza, Palestine. I graduated from Al-Azhar University in 2018 with a degree in English Literature. Before the war, I lived with my family in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood near Salah Al-Din Street in southern Gaza City. I am an Arabic-English translator as well as a Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) volunteer.

This fundraiser is for myself and my immediate family, including my father, mother, sister, and two young children. We are currently living in Deir Al-Balah.

I am responsible for supporting my family, especially under the current conditions.

Then the war began, our lives completely changed. My family was forced to flee many times. At one point we were separated — part of the family was in the south and the rest in the north. Communication was often cut off, and many days we did not know if our loved ones were safe.

During the temporary ceasefire in 01/2025, we briefly returned, hoping life might start to recover. But when the war resumed, we had to flee again under heavy bombardment. Every time we were displaced, we truly felt like we might die on the road.

On July 2, 2025, we left our home for what turned out to be the last time. Later, when a ceasefire allowed people to check their neighborhoods, we returned to Al-Zaytoun. What we found was heartbreaking — the entire neighborhood had been destroyed. Not a single house was left standing. Our home was completely gone.

With it, we lost everything — our memories, our safety, my apartment, and everything I had worked for in my life.

Our home after destroying it

Today, my family of six — my father, my mother, my sister, and two young children — are living in a small room in Deir Al-Balah. Life has become extremely difficult. The very high prices of food and basic necessities make every day a struggle. We constantly worry about how we will afford the next meal and whether the little money we have will be enough.

The psychological pressure is also very heavy. Even simple things like Ramadan and family gatherings have become painful reminders of how difficult life has become. We often cannot afford to celebrate or participate in these moments the way we used to because of our situation.

Note: I do not share photos of my family in our current living situation, as I want to preserve their dignity. I also refuse to use my family’s suffering to gain extra sympathy or funds.

I am 30 years old and trying my best to support my family, especially since my brother is abroad. I am not asking for luxury or travel. I am simply trying to help my parents and family survive and rebuild some stability after losing everything.

Before the war, I had a normal life and was working toward my future. But the war took everything from us — our home, our stability, and our security.

**How the funds will be used

With the help of kind and generous people, I hope we can ease some of this hardship and slowly rebuild our lives.

**The funds will be used for basic needs such as food, shelter, and essential daily expenses.

All donations are guaranteed. In addition, I will receive it through my Bank of Palestine account after my family member "Adham Baroud" my brother help me to withdrew it as Palestine encounters many difficulties due to the current situation. At the end, the fund will be used directly to support my family.

Any support, no matter how small, can make a real difference for us.

Thank you for reading our story and standing with us.
