Brittany Caesar is one my longest and dearest friends. We met in Lansing during the early 1990's during those "formative years." She was studying poetry and I was a photo student.
Brittany, a single mom of two teens is a writer and yoga teacher. She recently finished the memoir she's been working on for years.

Right now, Brittany is fighting for her life.
As of yesterday, Brittany has been been in a coma on life support in the ICU of the Santa Cruz hospital where she lives.
Thankfully, her mother Millie Caesar-Fortin (in her seventies) of Lansing was able to take time off her job as a caretaker for the elderly in Lansing and get to Santa Cruz to be at Brittany's bedside.
Millie, a widower for the past few years could use our help.
Brittany's mom is one of the toughest and wisest cookies I've met. She's also one of the most selfless people I've ever known. I met her shortly after meeting Brittany. She was baking Christmas cookies at 3 AM for friends and family at their house on Ada Street.
This "Mother Teresa" of the Baker Street neighborhood has been the neighborhood cook, nurse, mediator, and go-to mom to many - so much so that the Caesar-Donora Park and Baker-Donora Community Center in South Lansing bear her namesake. Up until her late-husband Roger died a few years ago, they dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus every year for Shop with a Cop and other organizations, and gave presents and to underprivileged kids in the community.
If you're able, please consider contributing a couple dollars to help ease the financial burden Millie faces while she is in Santa Cruz to be with her daughter and grandchildren.
