Nyx is a 13.5year old cat with plenty of life to live. She's the sweetest cat with many toes - 25!
She was recently diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma, a cancer typically with a pretty poor prognosis. Hers was caught early before it invaded other parts of her body or bone. The majority of the mass was removed and so far it looks as though there is no growth.
Here's where we need help.
She is on an expensive chemotherapy-like medication with a plethora of other meds.
She needs recheck bloodwork pretty frequently to make sure the meds aren't affecting her poorly.
Lastly, we want to do a newer therapy which takes a part of her mass and gets turned into a vaccine. This will require another surgery and some fund raising.
I am hoping that we can raise up the money to keep her labwork going and start this new therapy!
Alright, so Nyx went in for a second surgery to remove more of her mass and send it out to Torigen to make a vaccine of her tumor. She had an esophagostomy tube placed so she didn't have to eat on her own as her mouth healed.
