Hello I'm Michelle and on December 3rd I went in for a simple spine stimulator surgery. The next day after walking the halls of the hospital I was getting ready to go home and my body went limp, I just fell over in my bed. I was paralyzed from the chest down. I found out after an emergency surgery I had what they call a spine stroke which I had two blood clots on my vertebrae's. Then cause of the heavy medications I had a perforated bowel which put a bag on my stomach. I left the hospital after a month and went to rehab for three months. My insurance decided I no longer needed physical therapy anymore so I went home. I've had home therapy for a few months but in two weeks my insurance will no longer pay for more therapy. I really need a lot more intense physical therapy and I have no more medical rides cause insurance will not pay for it. I need to be more independent in being able to drive myself to all my doctors appointments with a special needs car. I'm also in need of a home that can accommodate wheelchairs. I'm asking this because the longer I can't walk the more likely I won't. If I can get to therapy on my own I'm convinced I can walk again. I need to walk again. I'm extremely motivated but I'm stuck.
