I’m navigating a challenging time as a 29-year-old mom of three little ones all under four. It’s hard to believe I’ve been clean for nearly six years after struggling with addiction. At this point in my journey, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. But right now, things have become difficult again. After the birth of my newborn, I developed preeclampsia, which has kept me from returning to work for at least another month. Facing these medical issues is stressful, especially when combined with everyday financial pressures.
Living here in Rose Hill, Virginia, I’m doing everything I can to hold things together for my family. But with bills stacking up and the cost of child care looming, it feels overwhelming at times. I’m committed to staying on my recovery path, even though these strains make it tempting to slip back into old habits. Being here for my kids is my everything, and reaching out for support is a way to ensure I can be the best mom possible during this tough season.
