My name is Sassha Byzdani, and I am reaching out for emergency help during the hardest trial of my life. Last year, on May 7th, 2025, my life changed in an instant. I was in a serious life-altering car accident that left me with multiple broken ribs, a fractured sternum that punctured both lungs, and a burst fracture of my T11 vertebrae, and additional spinus process fractures. My only vehicle was completely totaled, and because it only carried liability insurance, it is a total loss I cannot afford to replace.
Even before the accident, I was already struggling. I had injured my elbow while working at The Drive, and I wasn't able to work all of my jobs because of that injury. I had been going to school part-time, bartending at The Drive in Holdrege, selling advertising for the Holdrege Citizen, and working in Colorado Springs as an in-home care provider. I've always been used to working hard and staying busy, taking care of myself.
Since the accident, things have been turned upside down. I've now had back surgery and elbow surgery. While both surgeries have been a success, and my body is fighting hard to heal in physical therapy, my financial reality has hit a breaking point. Without the ability to work and without a vehicle, I'm struggling to stay afloat while I focus on healing.
The URGENT Crisis:
Because I am on mandatory unpaid medical leave, my regular monthly bills, utilities, and medical expenses have piled completely out of hand. Most urgently, my rent is now severely past due, and I am facing immediate, stressful eviction threats from my landlord while I am medically unable to work.
I am scheduled for a critical doctor's appointment in a few weeks to assess whether my spine has fused enough to discuss a partial return to work. Until then, I am in a race against time to save my home I have been in for the last 10 years.
How Your Donations Will Be Used:
Every single dollar raised from this campaign will be handled with absolute transparency and used immediately to secure my survival. Funds will go directly toward:
*Catching up on all past-due rent balances to immediately halt eviction actions.
*Paying delinquent utilities
* Out-of-pocket medical expenses (ex. travel to Omaha for Dr. visits, bills, medication ect.)
*Cover basic living expenses while I'm unable to work
*Toward replacing my totaled vehicle so I can get to physical therapy, medical appointments, basic errands future work and eventually continue my education.
