I will start with the short version then explain my situation in detail after.
I am reaching out for urgent help with living expenses due to unexpectedly having to leave where I have been staying with family due to lease issues.
I have to find somewhere to live by April 30th. Unless I find someone I can stay with, my next option is a weekly rate motel as a temporary solution. I have also contacted community organizations that provide housing help.
My hearing for SSDI to appeal the denial is on May 1st. It can take 2-4 weeks to receive a determination and additional time to receive benefits when approved.
Funds for temporary housing, laundry supplies and money for the laundromat and personal care items are my priority needs.
My backstory:
In September 2024 I lost my job due to my declining health making it impossible for me to work. Given the situation I decided my best case was to apply for social security disability which I did in November 2024.
Since then I have lost the home I was living in, my car was repossessed, I had to rehome 3 cats and have jumped around between friends and family who were willing to help me since I have no income. I have been denied by SSA, filed a reconsideration and was denied and now have a lawyer and a hearing May 1st to appeal.
I have been staying with my sister for about 8 months and unfortunately management has noticed I am here and should not be and will evict everyone if I do not leave.
I am hoping to get some help to make it through this next month at least for now while I have my hearing and wait for a determination.
